Ashland's Relay for Life

Today was a beautiful day for the Relay for Life in Ashland, MA. The sun was out and very few clouds in sight. My company gathered many volunteers from a variety of departments - Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, and HR - and everyone showed up to support the cause. Together we raised over $15,000 for this event in a span of one year. We held bake sales, casual Wednesdays, raffles, and a golf tournament throughout the year.

I managed to convince Chris to join me and I believe he had a great time once I put him to work selling lemonade, popcorn, and chili. See for yourself!

Together, we can!
All the pretty signs. I made the Chili and Chips sign.

And I'm Back

Okay, so I finally found something worth making. I am making a blanket for Project Linus. Yay! I chose a pink and white color scheme and it's coming out really good. It's really easy to make. I'll post some pictures after I get my online life (facebook photo albums) in order. So bear with me!

Stockings Sweet Stockings

Okay, so I finished two so far. They were made using two different weight yarns so one's bigger than the other. Well, I extended the pattern a bit for the brown one. I have a lot of random color yarns... I think I'll go buy red and green yarn to be traditional, but I swear that's it. No more yarn until Christmas. =)

I think I'm gonna go have dinner and watch a movie. My sister went to the University of Delaware for an Ultimate Frisbee tournament so I'm gonna be lonely this weekend. I guess I'll hang out with my other friends. =)

Mini Christmas Stockings

I have until the end of this month to make as many Christmas stockings as I can so it can be shipped to Iraq. These mini stockings are going to a special Engineer Battalion, "a unit that neutralizes the IEDs; checking and clearing territories for other troops in Iraq. According to the unit’s chaplain, 1/2 of the troops do not receive anything in the mail from home." (Ravelry Boston Yarn Party group posting)

I just want to do something special and use my yarn for something good. I'll even include a special note in the stockings. =) For more information: A Call for Help Service Project.

Oh, by the way, I'm addicted to www.ravelry.com. I finally got my invite two days ago and now I'm an addict! It's a website devoted to the knitting and crocheting community. SWEET!
